Don't neglect your health!

These days I see a lot of focus on "tweakments". Lashes, Fillers, Lips, Botox, the list goes on. If you want to do those things that is of course your decision. But something I see a lot of is people doing all those things but not looking after themselves completely. By completely I mean your overall health.
I see young girls (and older ladies) getting lashes and filler but they don't go near the gym, they don't drink water, they live on junk food, they smoke or vape, they drink a lot and they neglect their general health. Their skin is bad and they are overweight
This is so odd to me. I could almost guarantee if they stopped smoking and drank more water their skin will look far better and would likely be in much better shape. A few workouts a week would make a difference to how they look and feel.
"What you eat is what you wear". Such a true statement. If you live on junk food, processed food, takeaways and fizzy drinks etc you will not look your best no matter what you do. I'm not saying you should never have it, but it needs to be a treat not a regular event. By treat I mean not every week. I had a client once tell me she occasionally had a takeaway and it was 3 times a week. That is not occasional ! Processed foods are very high in salt and fat and can really bloat you.
Eat well 80% of the time and have a few treats in between and your body and face will thank you for it. It doesn't take any longer to cook a healthy meal than it takes to order and wait for a takeaway.
You don't have to attend an actual gym but you can still have a workout. We should all be looking after our hearts and lungs. As we age we lose muscle. We lose shape. If you hit the weights a few times a week you keep the muscle and strength and so keep the shape. If you do cardio a few times a week you help protect your heart. This can be done at home, get a couple weights, go for a run. Do a dvd. Whatever works for you.
These things really matter, more than looks. A healthy heart and a strong body are what helps us live a long and healthy life. None of us wants to struggle with poor health as we age so it really matters. If you eat well, drink water, don't smoke, limit or cut drinking, workout, get enough sleep and look after your skin you won't even need some of those expensive treatments.
So don't spend a fortune on "tweakments" and then completely neglect your health.
